Is there anywhere more beautiful then Cornwall in the summer; clear blue seas, twittering birds, golden beaches and gorgeous harbour villages.

Polhawn Fort is in its element when the sun is shining and there really couldn’t be a more romantic place to say ‘I Do’. Our Summer House has panoramic sea views and views across the stunning Cornish coastline.

The Weather! Of course we can never guarantee the Cornish sunshine but if you have a summer wedding then the chances for sun are higher! August and September are still our busiest months for weddings but in over 2,000 weddings only a few have had rain non-stop all day! The average temperature for August in Cornwall is 16degrees. It may not sound that warm, but that is higher than the UK average and don’t forget that the temperature is measured in the shade!

The Beach! We have a private walkway to our secluded beach Polhawn Cove. Most couples visit the beach to spend those precious first few moments together as newlyweds. We always recommend escaping for a short while together to take in the day. Why not take your photographer with you to capture those moments. Don’t forget to bring your wellies or flip-flops to make the walk down more comfortable and for a dip in the sea!

Sea theme wedding! As we are near the beach and as you are having a summer wedding why not combine the two and have a beach theme! There are so many extra touches that you could do to add to your theme; centrepieces, favours, floral arrangements, stationary etc. We have so many fabulous local suppliers who can all help advice on this.

Food! You have lots of choice when it comes to food at your wedding. We allow you to choose you own caterers and decide your own menu. If you are having a summer wedding then why not think about something slightly different; a cream tea or picnic on the lawn, Cornish pasties, or a BBQ all followed by an ice cream trike! Your drinks reception can also have a summer twist; pink lemonade or Pimms make a great addition. You can supply your own alcohol with NO corkage charge too!

Flowers in the gardens! In the summer the gardens look beautiful; trees full of different shades of green and an array of pastel colours filling our flowerbeds. Our gardener does a fabulous job of maintaining our gardens and ensuring they are kept looking neat. We even have a lot of tropical plants and palm trees!
