‘The Most Romantic Wedding Venue in the UK’

Wednesday 29th April was a special day for the team here at Polhawn Fort.
We were awarded ‘The Most Romantic Wedding Venue in the UK’ in the London Mini Shard (Newscorp) building, as part of ‘The Romantics Awards’ organised by ‘Mills and Boon’.

Polhawn Fort, Cornwall was selected as ‘Most Romantic Wedding Venue’ from many other wedding venues in the UK. We were finalists due to popularity: previous Brides, Grooms and guests voted overwhelmingly to make us The Winner. We are proud to have hosted over 2,000 weddings and we all have a wealth of experience to help couples plan a truly unique wedding stay.

Owner of Polhawn Fort, John Wicksteed, attended the awards ceremony in London and was pleased when the Fort was announced as the Winner. ‘I am so delighted that our wonderful venue in its spectacular location has won us this award’.

A dedicated wedding venue, Polhawn Fort is hidden away overlooking the sea on the Rame Peninsula, seeming untouched by contemporary civilisation. Each wedding is bespoke, exclusive and memorable.

Entrance to the historic Fort is over the original drawbridge, which leads you down a spiral staircase into the breath-taking, eighty-foot long, arched and vaulted Hall. Ceremonies can be here or outside in the Garden House, with the sound of the waves as accompaniment.

Weddings at the Fort are hired to the couple on an exclusive basis: the Fort, the gardens, a private walkway to Polhawn Cove Beach, and accommodation for 20 guests, can be enjoyed privately by the couple and their nearest and dearest.

Our team have been part of over 2,000 weddings and have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to planning weddings. Every Monday and Friday we have an open afternoon where you can come and chat to us about your plans.
